Jodie is a professional Chartered qualified accountant for nearly 30 years and a member of the ICAEW. Before joining WBS, she worked in industry/practice for Crowe and Deloitte, amongst others and as a freelance consultant and educator in accountancy for 20 years, designing and delivering professional accountancy training around the UK and internationally - including having taught professional accounting syllabi (ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA, AAT) for many years worldwide, including Singapore and Dubai.

Her passion is engaging students in the classroom by relating the theory to real world current examples and giving students the confidence and knowledge to explore and understand careers in this field, as well as improving their employability skills.
Her academic discipline is in Accounting, Financial Reporting and Audit and she teaches a range of accounting subjects at undergraduate and postgraduate level, as well as MBA and Executive Education. She also continues to be involved externally in the design and delivery of worldwide Level 7 ICAEW professional accountancy courses, as well as continuing to have strong links with the accountancy professional bodies and carrying out external work, including end point assessments and exam writing and technical reviews for a number of the professional bodies.

Having joined WBS full time since September 2022 she is a passionate teaching focused faculty member, who works across a range of programmes, including the Masters and MBA programmes and continues to bring her industry experience and practise background into both the classroom and in her role as the Academic Director on the Year Away programme and Undergraduate Partnership Programme (which is a collaboration with Manchester and Cardiff University).She works closely with WBS Careers Plus and Employer Relations and is responsible for connecting students to employers for placement opportunities and for helping to build a strong Year Away Community as well as managing assessments and insight events.
