Tell us a bit about yourself, and what you studied.

I am from Greece and I moved to the UK five years ago to begin my studies. I studied Economics at the University of Aberdeen for my undergraduate degree and in the course of those studies, I developed a strong interest in finance. I decided to pursue an MSc in Finance to obtain a deeper understanding of the subject from an academic standpoint.

What first attracted you to WBS?

I was attracted to WBS because of the business school’s recognition and the respect it holds among people I know. Additionally one of my professors at University completed his PhD at the University of Warwick and highly recommended WBS because of the quality of the programmes.

What was the best thing about the programme?

For me, the best thing about the programme has to be my classmates. I really enjoy studying alongside students from different countries with a diversity of backgrounds, cultures and languages. During group projects, we were able to work collaboratively appreciating our own unique differences and how to deal with them which has been a very educational experience. Additionally, many of my classmates are quite knowledgeable about the industry and have given me lots of advice and guidance which has been greatly beneficial to me

Can you tell us about your career plans? What’s next for you?

I have always had an interest in academia and may consider applying for a PhD in order to pursue an academic career. Alternatively my main interests would probably be in consulting or asset management and therefore I may look at career paths following these interests instead.

What are your tips for getting the most out of a masters for those starting in September?

For future students starting their masters in September I would advise that preparation is key when beginning an MSc programme, establish connections with previous or prospective students on your programme to share advice and guidance.
