I’m Ash and I am a second year student studying BSc Management. My time at WBS has been challenging but thoroughly stimulating and enjoyable. The wide variety of modules has allowed me to explore a broad range of disciplines, from entrepreneurship to supply chain management. I have really been impressed by the emphasis WBS puts on practical business skills, while still maintaining an even balance with the theory of management. I have enjoyed working within the group spaces in the WBS building as it provides students with a creative and inspiring place to learn. By studying and interacting with other students I have built solid relationships with my peers which has been pivotal for group work and has enabled me to strengthen my leadership and team working skills significantly.
I am a beneficiary of the Multi-Cultural Scholarship Programme (MSP). This has lifted a huge weight off my shoulders, both in terms of the financial assistance it has provided and in the mentoring support I have received from my personal tutor. The funds provided by the MSP have enabled me to focus on my academic studies and pursue sport at university; I represent the university at rugby league, playing for the 1st XV and managing over 60 members in my position as Vice-President. The MSP community has been extremely helpful in providing opportunities outside of the university to develop, from company visits to social and cultural events.
WBS has been the perfect fit for me and I thoroughly relish the thought of an exciting future here, and the opportunities it will bring.
