Online learning at WBS

Our online platform my.wbs removes geographical barriers,  enabling you to discuss issues in real-time with your peers and academics. You can engage in lectures in real time with wbsLive, test your knowledge, watch recorded sessions, access teaching materials, connect with other students, participate in global study groups and speak directly to your lecturers, peers and  Programme Team through the platform. 

We have invested in lightboard technology to help us create the most engaging and interactive instructional videos possible. The technology enables lecturers to face their audience while standing behind a clear glass “wall” on which they can draw and write. This creates a more engaging and dynamic learning experience for remote learners. You will also encounter a wide range of other instructional media types; all recorded and edited by our in-house media team. These include on-location case studies, interviews, talking heads and podcasts.

Our modules are designed and led by Warwick faculty, supported by a substantial specialist team who produce and support the interactive materials. All of our academics are exceptional teachers who are skilled in making their subject matter accessible, interesting and engaging, no matter whether they're teaching over a screen or face-to-face. In addition to our teaching staff, we also have a highly supportive CareersPlus and Employer Relations team who offer a range of support and resources to all of our alumni, including one-to-one coaching and various events and workshops, such as networking sessions, career fairs, and employer presentations. Typically, conversations and workshops are focussed on leadership and development areas covering topics such as branding and visibility, influence and communication, salary negotiation, effective teamwork and dynamics and much more.

We're always looking for ways to improve and enhance our technology, so we're delighted to have introduced SmartStage® in January 2024. The next generation in online lecture environments, SmartStage® utilises extended reality to replace the traditional green screen element with a virtual studio. This allows academics to interact with the content around them to create fully immersive and visually stimulating live lectures and to bring guest speakers from across the globe in to the classroom. This ground-breaking broadcast technology has the potential to greatly enrich the learning experience and bring remote learning to life.
