Angela is a qualified Chartered Management Accountant (ACMA, CGMA) who worked in industry supporting small businesses before joining academia. Angela has held positions in higher education for more than 20 years and before joining Warwick Business school, Angela was a Senior Teaching Fellow and Course Director at Aston Business School, where she received repeated recognition for her support of students and excellence in teaching.
In 2017 Angela was awarded Senior Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy recognising her commitment to delivering quality education.
Angela's area of teaching expertise is in designing and delivering modules covering all aspects of management accounting but specifically bridging the link between strategy and management accounting in organisations. Angela has worked extensively facilitating learners on undergraduate, postgraduate and MBA courses.
Angela's teaching specialism is also mirrored in her research, her PhD thesis focused on how contemporary approaches to management accounting are utilized in the UK service sector and she has also co-authored a book in the area of strategic managerial accounting. Angela also has research interests in the field of accounting education and the use of innovation both inside and outside of the classroom. Angela was part of a European team which developed an accounting game for use on a mobile forum.
