Ross joined WBS following a career in the Energy Industry, he was a senior manager in shared services, Retail and Trading functions. Ross holds an MBA (Warwick) and PhD (Warwick). In his research Ross has investigated how risk is understood and managed in operations, across a variety of contexts. Studies have included the Energy Industry, Intelligence and Police Services. Ross has a specific interest in Police Custody and Police decision-making.

Ross is a Professor in the Operations Management Group. He teaches on MBA and MSc courses in Operations Management. Ross is the Associate Dean for PGT Management and Business at WBS, including Pre-experience MSc and Post-experience MBA.
