Umar is an Associate Professor of Behavioural Science and teaches
executive education at Warwick Business School, London School of
Economics and University of Oxford. He is also Co-founder/Director of
Behavioural Decision Making at CogCo, an organisation that works with
scaling technology firms and larger corporates to apply ideas from
behavioural science, design and data science and to build their own
behavioural science capabilities. His interest lies in helping public
and private institutions apply the latest insights from behavioural
science to improve decision making. His current projects span the
domains of tech, health, energy, finance, security, politics and
education. He previously founded the ongoing 'Nudgeathon' programme at
Warwick Business School, which helps organisations to rapidly learn
and apply concepts from the behavioural sciences to addressing their
own goals. He is also the founder of Behaviour Insightâ„¢ - a tech-based
behaviour change solution that systematically identifies barriers to
behaviour change and guides the user to develop successful
interventions. He delivers regular training and facilitation workshops
and has provided his service to over 100 global institutions.
