Dr. Hamad Buamim: Regional Chair of the UAE Alumni Network

We are delighted to introduce Dr. Hamad Buamim, Regional Chair for our UAE Alumni Network.

Hamad is currently Chairman of the Board at Dubai Multi-Commodities Centre and holds pivotal roles as the Chairman of National General Insurance PJSC and Vice Chairman of Deyaar Properties PJSC. He serves as a Board Member of Economic Zones World (JAFZA), Dubai Islamic Bank PJSC, and International Hotel Investment PLC (Malta).

He studied the Doctor of Business Administration at Warwick Business School with a research focus on business model innovation, and graduated in 2024.

Hamad is looking forward to working with his fellow chairs: Sorina, Yasir, Hassan and Larry and has many plans for the network, including monthly social events, to grow the already vibrant UAE alumni community. 

Hamad said: "My aim is to build a supportive community where members can benefit from regular, meaningful interactions, whether through professional development, networking, or shared local and regional insights. I see the network as a space to support each other’s growth and make the most of the strengths within the WBS community.

"Currently, I am working with the local ambassadors towards expanding monthly social and professional events to encourage a mix of casual and valuable gatherings. I believe these events give alumni a sense of belonging and opportunities to explore together.

"Being part of this network offers valuable local perspectives, access to events, and the chance to connect with others who understand the experience of working in the UAE. It’s an opportunity for alumni to draw from shared experiences and explore possible collaborations. What I enjoy most is the genuine sense of connection. It’s inspiring to see how alumni support each other, celebrate each other’s successes, and contribute to a common purpose within the community."
