Full-time MBA Reunion - Class of 1999/2000
Alumni from all four corners of the world descended on Warwick Business School’s London campus at The Shard in September to celebrate 20 years of change making.
We were delighted to welcome back the 1999/2000 cohort of the Warwick Full-time MBA, with alumni - and their partners - joining us from as far away as Australia, Canada, Aruba, and Greece.
This 20th anniversary reunion was very much a starting point, with plans already in place to arrange another major get-together for the quarter century mark in 2024.
The cohort ambassadors Mark Whitley and Nikki Shepperd were instrumental in rallying their fellow alumni for this event, with planning starting almost a year in advance back in 2018.
Nikki said: “The stunning WBS London home in The Shard was the ideal place to gather our MBA class. Reconnecting to share stories of our professional and personal journeys, we were astonished with the distances people had come – from four continents. We’re already planning for our 25th reunion!”
Mark said: “We were delighted to hold what was effectively a WBS family gathering at The Shard. Iconic views, a memory-reviving photo reel and delicious food accompanied numerous toasts to the cohort’s accomplishments!”
Following the formal drinks reception at The Shard, the cohort moved to a second venue to relive their memories into the early hours in the UK capital.
Alumna Michelle Biggi said: “Really amazing to see all the MBA friendly faces of 99/00!” Her fellow graduate Kevin Englebretson added: “So lovely to see great friends after 20 years. So many stories and good times – not to mention the hard work! Look forward to meeting this crowd again very soon.”
With 30 alumni attending this reunion, and many more sending their apologies, the event has helped re-establish communication lines within the group, who hope to hold a number of mini-reunions in the time between now and the 25th reunion.
