My first term at WBS as an MSc student
MSc Management student Aditya details his experiences during his opening term at Warwick Business School.
My first term at WBS has been enriching and transforming. The curriculum and modules have been precisely designed to provide us with the skills and information required to flourish in the dynamic world of business.
WBS has given us various opportunities to network, participate in extracurricular activities, and get immersed in the rich and lively culture of the University of Warwick.
The course
The MSc Management curriculum for the first term was categorized into three basic modules: Foundations of Management, Marketing, and Financial Analysis and Management.
The Foundations of Management module provided an overview of management's essential concepts and principles, including themes such as leadership, organisational behaviour, and strategic management.
Understanding the consumer, delivering customer value, and implementing effective marketing strategies were all topics covered in the Marketing module. The Financial Analysis and Management programme taught students about financial statements, financial analysis, and financial decision-making.
The people
Professors with extensive expertise and knowledge conducted the lectures, encouraging critical thought and active involvement in class discussions.
The academics also supplied us with real-life case studies and examples to demonstrate how the theoretical principles might be applied. Individual and group assignments, case studies, and tests were used to assess our ability to apply what we learned in class to real-world circumstances.
WBS presented us with several options to participate in extracurricular activities and network with industry leaders in addition to the academic curriculum. We were also provided with a variety of activities for us to meet with alumni and industry professionals, such as guest lectures, seminars, and social gatherings.
To prepare us for our job hunt, the school's CareersPlus staff also offered us with career advice, resume critiques, and mock interviews.
The life
WBS enjoys a diverse selection of extracurricular activities and experiences that enhance the entire student experience. Located in the heart of England, surrounded by beautiful landscape with a varied and lively culture that encourages personal growth and development.
The university has a wide range of student societies and clubs, catering to different interests and passions. Joining these clubs and societies provides a great opportunity to meet new people, make friends and build lasting connections.
The university also hosts numerous events and activities throughout the year, including concerts, exhibitions, and cultural festivals. The Warwick Arts Centre is the largest arts centre in the UK outside of London and hosts a diverse range of events throughout the year, including theatre, dance, music, and visual arts.
