Embracing blended learning on the Accelerator MBA
Accelerator MBA participant Viktor Didenchuk shares his journey into the programme, revealing why its unique structure stood out to him and how it’s shaping his personal and professional growth.
One of the reasons why I chose the Accelerator MBA programme at Warwick Business School (WBS) is because it uses blended learning, with 80% of learning done face-to-face and the remaining 20% online. I visit WBS London at The Shard every six weeks, which allows me to have a student-work-life balance and the opportunity to enjoy myself over the weekend and see friends. The fact that the majority of learning is done face-to-face over a short period of time helps me to concentrate, go offline in all messengers, and avoid context switching between work and study.
When studying online, I believe that Warwick’s online learning platform my.wbs has outstanding capability, and comparing it to the systems I have seen during my undergraduate studies, there is a huge difference. It is easy to navigate, and you are always on top of the last, most important tasks that are outstanding.
There are 27 people in my cohort with 10 different nationalities, providing us with an extensive example of work competencies, ethics, and life experience from all over the world. It is always a great experience to hear how sustainability is treated in Italy versus Saudi Arabia and China.
On top of the diverse cohort, we also have access to the diverse WBS alumni network making it extremely easy to make new connections. I have already had a great chat with a couple of people who have switched from similar positions to mine into a field I am interested in, and I believe having this sort of conversation gives me perspective about the choices I would like to make in the future.
