Coming from a 14-year career as an Airline Pilot, embarking on the MBA journey pushed me outside of my comfort zone. Completing modules, working full-time, and fulfilling family and social commitments meant there was very little time to apply for new roles. However, when the opportunity to apply for internal roles that would complement my MBA studies arose, the CareersPlus team were at hand to help.
I had very little experience in structuring CVs and answering essay questions when applying for jobs that were not flying roles. In sitting down with CareersPlus team, they were able to look through my CV and what was required for the application process and tailored their advice to me.
Furthermore, the CareersPlus team were able to help me grow my professional network by putting me in touch with other business professionals who work in Aviation. In making those introductions, I have been able to cultivate relationships that have provided me with a professional support system.
I am very grateful for Anil and the team, and I look forward to working with them closely when the MBA is at an end.

A key aspect of the MBA programme is leadership development, and I believe that good leadership starts with self-awareness. During my first residential week at Warwick, I had the chance to explore my own beliefs and how the values that are important to me influence my decisions and play out in my life.
This process has shown me how I can leverage my strengths and work on areas that need improvement. Not only has this boosted my self-confidence, but the increased mindfulness also allows me to better recognise other people’s strengths and be more receptive to their diverse perspectives. I’ve been able to put these tools to use immediately in any collaborative environment, whether during the MBA group assignments or at work.

The Careers Team have supported me with many subjects. Leadership sessions with the support of personality assessment have guided me on choosing the next steps in my career.
Through the personality assessment, I was able to appraise my strengths to leverage and areas that I need to work on to develop myself.
In addition, I am in a transitional stage in my career and the Careers Team is supporting me on setting my next steps.
