The Change Maker – Impact in Your Sector Scholarship felt like it was made for people like me: those who want to push boundaries and make a real difference in their fields. It wasn’t just about financial relief; it was about connecting with a school that believed in the power of individuals to create change. I knew right away that this was the support I needed.
The application process felt refreshingly real. Instead of filling out endless forms, I was asked to write an essay on how the scholarship would benefit me and why I thought I deserved it. I just focused on being genuine, sharing the impact I’d made in finance and sustainability roles and explaining my journey so far.
Receiving the scholarship felt incredible—it was a powerful validation of my journey and my goals. It didn’t just ease the financial burden; it also made me feel that I belonged here. Knowing that the school believed in my potential motivated me to do more. It gave me the confidence to run for the Student-Staff Liaison Committee (SSLC), where I could represent my classmates and work to improve the MBA experience for everyone.
To anyone considering applying for a scholarship, my best advice is to be as genuine as possible. Talk about why the scholarship matters to you, but also share what you’ve already done that aligns with its values. Highlight projects or moments where you’ve made a difference in your work or community. And think about how you can contribute to Warwick once you’re here. Scholarships aren’t just about personal gain; they’re about adding value to Warwick and building a legacy of positive impact. Show that you’re ready to grow, lead, and make a difference.
The Change Maker Scholarship has been a huge part of my MBA journey. It allowed me to study at WBS with a purpose, resilience, and a drive to push norms. I’m grateful for the chance to embody Warwick’s values, and as I look toward the future, I’m more inspired than ever to keep making an impact—in my field, in my community, and beyond.
