WBS-QRF with Professor Fleur Deken

We are delighted to welcome Professor Fleur Deken to the WBS-Qualitative Research Forum to discuss Distributed qualitative reanalysis: Innovating methods to reuse data and accumulate knowledge in organization studies.

Bio: 

Fleur Deken is a Professor of Strategy, Technology & Innovation at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, where she also holds a University Research Chair. She is Vice-Dean of Research at the School of Business and Economics. Her research focuses on mission-oriented innovation and cross-sector collaboration, particularly in developing technological solutions to societal challenges.

Theoretically, her interests lie in strategic change, organizational routines and capabilities, process research, and knowledge collaboration across boundaries. She has received significant research funding, including the prestigious NWO Veni grant (Dutch Science Foundation), and major interdisciplinary grants such as Fieldlabs@Scale and Cross-over digital innovation in healthcare. Fleur is also advancing open science by developing innovative methods for reusing qualitative case study data as part of the NWO Open Qual project (with Berends, Tuertscher & Cepa).

She is an active contributor to the Strategizing Activities & Practices (SAP) DIG at the Academy of Management, where she currently serves as Chair. Her work is published in top journals across the fields of management (e.g., Academy of Management Journal and Organization Science), strategy (e.g., Strategic Innovation), innovation studies (e.g., Research Policy, Journal of Product Innovation Management), and design studies (e.g., Design Studies and Journal of Engineering Design).
