Top marks: Undergraduates are studying at the number one school for Business, Management and Marketing in the UK

Warwick Business School has been named the number one institution in the UK for Business, Management and Marketing, according to the latest rankings by The Good University Guide from The Times and Sunday Times.

The School was also ranked second in the country for Accounting and Finance by the national newspaper, with the BSc Accounting & Finance programme giving students a head start in gaining professional accountancy qualifications.

The ranking measures teaching and research quality, student experience, entry standards, graduate prospects and environmental sustainability, with WBS coming out on top for Business, Management and Marketing, which saw the School’s BSc Management and BSc International Management being assessed.

It comes after students voted WBS the top Russell Group business school in the 2024 National Student Survey

Andy Lockett, Dean and Professor of Strategy and Entrepreneurship, said: “This recognition is a testament to the passion and perseverance of our entire community. It reflects our unwavering commitment to academic excellence, practical relevance, and pioneering teaching methods.

“At WBS, we empower the Change Makers - those who challenge the status quo and believe they can create a better world.

“Here, we provide a world-class education that equips our graduates with the skills and vision to thrive in a global business landscape and make a lasting impact on society.”

As well as high quality teaching from world-class academics, undergraduates experience Warwick’s vibrant campus, with the recent £22.5 million refurbishment of the Arts Centre making it the largest of its type in the Midlands.

A new £50 million Sport and Wellness Hub houses a 700-square-metre climbing wall that is used by the British Olympic team, a 12-lane 25-metre swimming pool complete with a movable floor, a state-of-the-art gym, studio spaces, squash and netball courts, and outdoor pitches.

While a £4 million upgrade of the five-storey university library, which holds one million printed volumes and 15.5km of archives, has enhanced its service with 144 full-time equivalent staff and more than 3,000 study places.

Mark Johnson, Associate Dean (Undergraduate Programmes) and Professor of Operations Management, said: “Our focus has always been on delivering an outstanding experience that prepares our students for the challenges of the business world. Being ranked number one for Business, Management and Marketing, and second for Accounting and Finance, reflects the quality of our programmes and the dedication of our teaching staff.

“Our students graduate to work with some of the biggest companies in the world like Amazon, Goldman Sachs, Procter & Gamble and Mercedes Benz. Employers know they are taking on high quality students because of the teaching and research at WBS.

“We ensure our graduates are well prepared for their chosen career with our superb CareersPlus service and by offering them the choice of a placement year working at a business that often leads to a job opportunity.”
