Promoting talent: WBS performed above the global average in all categories in the QS Executive MBA Rankings
Warwick Business School’s Executive MBA has been ranked number one in the world for career outcomes by QS.
The global higher education analytics firm rated the School’s Executive MBA 15th in the world overall in its QS Executive MBA Rankings, rising two places from last year, with WBS ranked eighth in Europe.
But WBS excelled at career outcomes – that is salary increase and the percentage of the class receiving promotions within a year of graduating – with the School also rated ninth best in the world for diversity, in terms of student gender and nationality.
QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) ranked 194 Executive MBA programmes around the world, with WBS rated comfortably above the global average in all five categories, covering: thought leadership, employer reputation, career outcomes, diversity, and executive profile.
Andy Lockett, Dean of WBS and Professor of Strategy and Entrepreneurship, said: “This is a great result for the School and again illustrates the hard work and dedication of our CareersPlus and Employer Relations team, who not only provide job opportunities with some of the world’s biggest firms like BP, IBM and Unilever, but also offer tailor-made coaching in leadership and professional development.
“Once our students have graduated, they are also able to access a host of online resources, a career consultation and can join our professional interest groups for free.
“This ranking also shows the quality of our research and students, who come from all over the world and possess the Change Maker values we look for - curiosity, openness, restlessness, and excellence.”
The Executive MBA can be studied at the School’s Warwick campus or WBS London at The Shard, which overlooks the River Thames and financial centre of the capital.
With required modules ranging from organisational behaviour and strategic advantage, to financial management and marketing, participants gain knowledge on every facet of business. They can then focus on leadership, sustainability or strategy through the elective modules.
What are the Executive MBA specialist routes?
Students can finish the course with the traditional 15,000-word dissertation or undertake a strategic consulting project in a group, tackling a real-world problem for an organisation.
There is also the option of taking the specialist route in social and environmental sustainability, entrepreneurship, or healthcare, by selecting certain electives and basing the dissertation on the chosen area.
Hossam Zeitoun, Course Director and Reader of Strategy and Behavioural Science, said: “Our Executive MBA is a great avenue for senior managers to learn the latest research and knowledge while being able to carry on with their job.
“This is not only of great benefit to their career, but to their organisation as well, as they are able to apply their new knowledge directly to their workplace.
“The course offers flexibility alongside the opportunity to learn from our world-class academics and the many varied professional and industry perspectives of their cohort. They can build new contacts and often make friends for life, supporting one another during their entire career.
“This ranking once again emphasises the world-class learning environment we have at WBS.”
