Juanita Bernal
MSc Business & Finance (2023 - 2024)

Embarking on a Master’s degree in a new country represents an exciting opportunity for personal and professional growth. From my first day at WBS, I immersed myself in the multicultural environment, where the diversity of ideas and cultures enriched my academic experience. Behind this journey full of learning and discovery, there is an essential aspect that should not be overlooked: mental wellbeing.

Throughout my journey in the MSc course, I have witnessed the invaluable support provided by the administrative team and professors at the university. This support has been crucial in overcoming some emotional challenges the change in country, language, and culture has posed. One of the outstanding facets of my experience at WBS has been the exchange of ideas and cultures among students and professors.

The spaces created for debate and interaction have significantly contributed to building a solid financial knowledge base, but they have also served as a refuge to disconnect from academia and strengthen bonds of friendship.

Participation in extracurricular activities, such as visits to local markets, or visits from alpacas, has been fundamental in fostering an atmosphere of camaraderie and mutual support.

The wellbeing support I’ve received from the MSc recruitment team was invaluable. Their willingness to schedule meetings with professors and explore different assistance options demonstrates a genuine commitment to the well-being of students.

At WBS, an atmosphere of support and camaraderie is fostered, allowing students to thrive not only academically but also personally.
