Tell us a bit about yourself and your background
After moving to the UK in 2011 I joined the MTC (Manufacturing Technology Centre) as a Robotics & Automation engineer. Throughout my time in the business, I have developed through engineering and leadership roles. I have had the opportunity to lead departments and teams taking on responsibilities of business development, resource management, management & metrics and technology development.
After three years of looking after resource management, I have recently moved to a customer-focused role developing and managing our product portfolio for Automation & Robotics.
Why did you ultimately choose Warwick Business School for your MBA? What elements of the programme did you value the most and why?
The Warwick Business School Executive MBA allowed me to choose modules that really fit with what I wanted to study and develop towards. The breadth and depth of the modules available stood out compared to other Universities, allowing us not only to specialise, but also focus on up-and-coming areas of research and business. As a bonus, the application process was streamlined, and the admissions team was very helpful and supportive throughout.
Even though my university experience was limited by the pandemic, I have created an incredible network with fellow students, professors, and guest speakers. The modules, including an overseas one, were well-planned and gave me many opportunities to develop my knowledge and skills. Being able to return to face-to-face teaching towards the end of my learning experience was great and allowed me to further develop those connections.
What does your job involve? How did the MBA help you prepare for your role?
The Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) was established as an independent Research & Technology Organisation (RTO) to bridge the gap between academia and industry.
My current role utilises much of the knowledge I gained through the MBA, from marketing to strategic leadership. Having the knowledge from the MBA helped me acclimatise to the new role and start making an impact on the team and our products. Working within an area that is critical to futureproofing and advancement of not only individual business but the economy as a whole, is a key element of MTC’s proposition. Tools and knowledge gained through the MBA allow me to support businesses in introducing automation & robotics, having a positive impact.
