I thoroughly believe that it was a great choice to study MSc Business with Marketing at WBS. The modules provided me with a comprehensive knowledge of the key areas of business including accounting, economics, strategy and quantitative methods.
What first attracted you to WBS?
Many of my UK and European friends told me that WBS is one of the most prestigious business schools in the UK and the best place to pursue a master’s degree. I was attracted to the reputation of WBS and when I contacted the Admissions Team they were really helpful and gave me lots of useful information to assist me with my application which was a really positive experience.
What was the best thing about the MSc Business with Marketing course?
It is hard to choose only one best thing about the course, but I would have to say the modules – the most basic, but also the most crucial part of the course. The course embraces a number of key business areas such as accounting and strategy, as well as more specialised areas such as marketing and branding. I believe that the course is very well organised in terms of content and schedules which makes the master’s courses at WBS second to none.
What sort of support did you receive from the CareersPlus team?
The WBS CareersPlus Team supported me brilliantly in terms of advising potential careers as well as helping me to tailor my CV. The careers events are also very useful in finding out about what kind of positions are available within companies and opportunities that I could pursue after my graduation. The WBS CareersPlus Team also have a finance career specialist and even a Chinese job market specialist.
Can you tell us about your career plans? What’s next for you?
For my future career path I would love to find a position in digital and performance marketing and I feel that the modules I am currently studying are highly relatable to this career path. I am trying to leverage all the skills I have learnt throughout my education to demonstrate in my CV that I am a competitive candidate with strong ambitions.
What are your tips for getting the most out of an MSc for those starting in September?
My top tips would be if you are an offer holder, you may wish to start reading some textbooks relating to your course. I had never studied business before, so the start of the programme was a little challenging, not only because of the content but also because of all the business terminology!
For prospective students I would advise taking time to work on tailoring your CV and taking advantage of the great careers service that the WBS CareerPlus Team can provide. My final tip for making the most of your year would be to set yourself clear goals and think about how you are going to achieve them to build your future and broaden your business horizons.
