This course equips students with essential data analytics skills for financial projects, combining fundamental accounting research methods with practical programming techniques. Students will learn to leverage statistical packages and programming languages such as R and Stata to analyse and interpret financial data effectively. The course covers a range of applications, from running regressions (using Stata) to performing basic textual analysis (using R) on financial documents. By the end of the module, students will be able to use tools to understand big data.
