I currently work in renewable energy and have been in the industry for 20 years. I started my career as an electrical apprentice.
I chose WBS to study the Global Online MBA due to its proximity to my home and its strong reputation. After extensive research into MBA programmes, I discovered that WBS offers great flexibility. The option to complete the course over three years allows me to manage any personal life events by rescheduling modules as needed.
Online learning
It took some time to adjust to online learning, but once I got the hang of it, I found it very user-friendly. The ability to pause and resume as needed is incredibly convenient, and being able to repeat sections ensures I don't miss any important information.
What I’ve gained from the Global Online MBA
I initially hoped to gain knowledge and build confidence, but I've gained so much more. I've found a community of people from diverse backgrounds that I would never have met outside of WBS. I've also developed the ability to view situations from entirely different perspectives. What surprised me the most was how much fun the MBA has been, especially during Residential Weeks and all the activities in between. The enjoyment I've had has been a delightful surprise.
The most rewarding part of my MBA journey has been the people I've met along the way. I've made lifelong friends and have the invaluable support of peers who understand the same emotions and stresses I'm experiencing. This level of support has been crucial to my progress, and I can't thank them enough. The staff at WBS have also been incredible, consistently going above and beyond to provide support. Their dedication has been vital to my success.
My advice to future MBA participants
My advice to anyone considering the MBA is to surround yourself with support and don't underestimate the time required to complete the MBA. Remember to have fun and enjoy the entire experience. Make the most of every situation and opportunity that comes your way.
This has been the most challenging yet rewarding experience I've ever undertaken. Every part of the course has been genuinely relevant to my current job role.
