Choosing Warwick Business School (WBS) for my Executive MBA was an easy decision. Their strong reputation, combined with the convenience of their London base at The Shard, made it the perfect fit for me. Studying in such an iconic location added to the experience—it’s not every day you get to learn with views like that!
Before starting the programme, I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect. I knew it would be intense, especially since I hadn’t studied in a while, but I was ready for the challenge. The first few months were an adjustment. Balancing work, study, and personal life required discipline, but I quickly found my rhythm. What surprised me most was just how engaging and practical the learning experience would be.
One of the biggest highlights has been applying theories to real-life case studies, particularly in modules where I could write assignments on companies I was genuinely interested in. The ability to conduct thorough research and apply the frameworks learnt in class gave me a completely new perspective on real-world business challenges. Instead of just absorbing theories, I found myself critically evaluating and dissecting complex problems with a newfound depth of understanding.
Beyond the academic rigour, the programme has given me an incredible boost in confidence. I now approach business decisions with a much more strategic mindset, challenging perspectives, and contributing at a higher level in my workplace. There have been multiple moments where I’ve noticed the immediate impact of my studies, whether it’s offering an alternative perspective in meetings or understanding the bigger picture behind decisions.
Of course, the journey hasn’t been without its challenges. Time management has been the toughest part, especially in the last quarter when I decided to front-load my electives to free up time for my dissertation. It was a real test of discipline and resilience but overcoming it has made the experience even more rewarding. The support of my cohort has played a huge role in this, we all faced similar pressures, and having a strong network of peers to share experiences and advice with has made a massive difference.
The friendships I’ve built throughout the programme have been invaluable, both professionally and personally. It’s been inspiring to learn alongside such a diverse and talented group of individuals, each bringing unique insights from different industries and backgrounds. The international module in Dubai was another standout experience, broadening our global perspective whilst deepening connections with peers.
Looking back, this MBA has been one of the most transformative and enriching experiences of my career. If I had one piece of advice for future students, it would be to embrace every opportunity, lean into the challenge, and make the most of the incredible people around you.
I would absolutely recommend this programme to anyone considering an Executive MBA. It’s insightful, intellectually stimulating, and pushes you out of your comfort zone. More than that, it equips you with the knowledge, confidence, and network to take your career to the next level. And yes, you even get to take an international module along the way!
